Yesterday, I went to see an advance screening of "Serenity" in Los Angeles. It was one of the very first showings of the film, and although I didn't know it at the time, it turns out that Joss Whedon himself was actually there! As for its state of completion, there are a few spots where the sound or color isn't right yet, one bit where the CG looked a little rough 'n ready, and there are no ending credits. But everything else? is DONE.
I just wanted to set your collective mind at ease: "Serenity" is awesome. It remains true to the soul of the show and its characters, and I think it will appeal to a wider audience as well. 90% of the people at the screening had never seen the show and loved the movie anyway (although they said it took a while to keep all the characters straight). Get ready, guys - it's going to be amazing.
I just went to see the Hitchhickers Guide and NO DAMN trailor!!!!!
That was the main reason I went to see the movie. Whats up with that?????
I just watched the series finale. Up until now, we (my bf and I) had been holding out. We just discovered the series less than a year ago and wanted to stretch it out until the movie. Of course, the movie being pushed back changed that plan a bit.
It was an excellent episode. I'm happy with the way things ended. Of course, I wouldn't have been happy if there wasn't a movie to look forward to. The show had been left very unsettled, which I'm sure happens with sudden cancellation.
Okay, now I'm going to go and watch it over and over and over and over and become the ultimate Firefly expert.
I hope everyone had a happy trailer week!
