Hi, I just learned about Firefly a couple of months ago when I was lamenting to a friend of my son's that there are hardly any good scifi movies & series out there. He told me about this series that I might be interested in called Firefly, that had well developed & interesting characters, and had elements of scifi, western, & buchaneers. Okaaaaaaayy, I thought, but what the heck, I'll give it a shot.
I put the DVDs on reserve at the library, watched it and I am now officially hooked. This movie has everything and it's so hard to choose which character I like best. I can't wait for the movie and hope that the series continues!
(BTW, after seeing it, it's not hard to understand WHY Fox [aka the republican channel] screwed up the series and dropped it like a hot potato.)
Hi, brand new here and I'm sorry to say I'm immediately looking for handouts. Does anyone know where I can find the theme song in ringtone form for a verizon LG6000? I've been trying just about everything. Thanks in advance!
Is there any Firefly fans that live in or by Milwaukee, Wisconsin (USA)? Because I am going to see Serenity the day it comes out with two of my friends, and I was wondering if there was going to be more Browncoats there. I was planning on making a Firefly/Serenity shirt to wear to the theatres. Please comment.
Oh, juh jen sh guh kwai luh duh jean-jan...
Suddenly realized I had yet to intro myself, so, here goes.
I have been a fan of Firefly since the first episode aired. Yeah, I know... but, for some reason, I pick up sci-fi shows really quickly. I happened to see Babylon 5's first aired episode, on a crappy little 12" black and white TV.
Anyway, back to Firefly. I think what really hooked me was the lack of sound in space. I am a stickler for the little details, and no "whoosh" of the ships as the fly by tickled me pink and really caught my attention.
Favorite scene: When Mal kicked Crow into the engine in "The Train Job".
Favorite quote: " If I'm your mission, Shepherd, best give it up. You're welcome on my boat. God ain't" - Malcome Reynolds, "The Train Job"
Can't wait to see "Serenity." I plan to really go all out and actually show up opening night. Haven't done that for a while!
