GUH!

I just found Serenity Comic #1 in a Saratoga Springs' BORDERS. I sang a bit of Hero of Canton and danced about the store in joy. Then waltzed into Ben and Jerry's to get the Fossil Fudge thingy just 'cause it had chocolate dinosaurs in it.

It was the Mal cover, and was sitting there in plain sight. Even after reading it (and #2) I still can't believe I found it! Was so Shiny!

What are the odds?

New Firefly fan

Hi everyone! I am a new Firefly fan, having just watched the first 3 DVDs of the set. I'm getting the 4th today from Netflix. I can't believe I didn't watch this show while it was on! I feel bad, seeing as how it was canceled.

I'm not going to be able to see the "Serenity" movie for quite some time because I am deaf and can't go to the movie theater. I have to watch them with captions or subtitles, and those aren't really available in theaters. I also can't listen to the commentary on the DVDs because they are not subtitled. Sucks, doesn't it?

Anyway, while I was watching Firefly, it struck me that Saffron looks a hell of a lot like Bryce Dallas Howard's character in the movie "The Village". I've put 2 pictures under the cut for comparison. Maybe this was talked about at the time, but I wasn't here, so.. :P

Well, I will definitely be back to talk about Firefly some more, but I may have to leave around the premiere of "Serenity" so I don't get spoiled. Nice to meet everyone!

I forgot...

I forgot to mention something in my other post...I subscribe to "Wired" magazine and there is an article in there in the September issue about Firefly/Serenity and how the fans fought to save Firefly and it made way for them to make the movie. In the article it mentions that the Sci-Fi channel shows Firefly episodes, but I don't think I've ever seen them on there. When do they air?
