Candycorn Vampire, MS Paint Adventures, Problem Slueth

Not a serious post, but important nonetheless, at least I think so.

So, I have been looking at the posts lately and have seen some distressing things. Apparently while my computer was in the shop I missed another chance to get tickets to an advance screening. Argh. Oh well, less than 30 days and I'll have seen the movie, maybe twice. Now, while I don't want to say that the Hurricane Survivors(survivers?(survivours? ah heck, I can't spell)) isn't important, I want to say one thing... I am no longer calling this month by the name that everyone else calls it. The main reason for this is that it is named "September" even though it is the ninth month and not the seventh. Now I'm sure there is an understandable reason as to this, but I think that as Browncoats, and therefore rabid fans, that we should change the name of the month from ill-fitting "September" to the more understandable "Serenity" because really, what is this month other than the month of "Serenity"? I know that's what I'm looking forward to the most about the month, and I know two people with birthdays this month! I am only refering to the days as "Serenity 2nd" or "Serenity 3rd" or that most wonderful of days, so far off and yet so near "Serenity 30th". I am hoping that other people take up this habit and do as I do, because then I can say "Yeah, that whole "Month of Serenity" thing... that was me." and that would make me cool. OK, well, I just wanted to toss that out there. Come on people I know we can do this, I trust that I'm not the only one geeky enough to do it. Let's show that not only are we Browncoats, but we're proud to be Browncoats too! Let's not forget Serenity, let's re-name a month after her!
All Love is Love

Browncoats Unite. is taking material goods now. While the Red Cross is dealing in cash donations, CoffeeCup is taking comfort goods. Ship everything (clothes, shoes, personal items, toys, hygiene items, diapers, diaper wipes, bottles, long distance calling cards, batteries, razors, washcloths, towels, socks, underwear, hair brushes, etc.) to the folks in Corpus Christi, TX, and they'll sort it all out and send it where it needs to go. I think this is just awesome, as people want to help, but may not have the mega-dollars for it. For the cost of shipping a box - about $20 dollars - a mess of helpful items can get to the victims of this tragedy.

Purchasing "Done The Impossible" is impossible

Has anyone actually managed to pre-order "Done The Impossible", the documentary about "Firefly" and "Serenity", from

I went to the web site, clicked on "Pre-Order", added it to my cart, clicked on "Secure Checkout". This brought me to a PayPal screen we'll call Screen A.

Since I have a PayPal account, I clicked on the "Log In" button to log in. Nothing. It acts like it's loading a page but ends up loading Screen A again.

Fine. I fill in name and address and click "Continue Checkout". This takes me to the billing info screen. I fill in my credit card number and related info and click "Continue Checkout". I get a warning screen saying that my credit card is already registered to a PayPal account, and to log in I should click on the "Login" button.

Fine. I do that, and get sent back to Screen A. I click on that "Log In" button -- nothing, same as before.

It's very frustrating when vendors don't want to take my money.

[Edit: The above was with Firefox 1.0.6. I was successful with Opera 8.02. It would be nice if I didn't have to keep two or three web browsers around just because of situations like this.]
