This is a minor point but it's been bugging me. I noticed that Inara looks very different but I can't figure out in what way. Of course everyone looked a little older and Kaylee was thinnner, but Inara almost looked like a different person like her own sister or something... Anyone know why? Thanks
Simon's clothes are a lot more Asian looking. River's clothes are less little girl dresses and more slinky dresses. Zoe wears lighter colors than she ever did in the show. Wash has that vest thing, probably to reinforce the fact that he is a pilot. Kaylee wears her coveralls up the whole time, as opposed to around her waist like in the show. Inara's clothes are generally the same as the show, except when she wears that little midriff thing... Jayne and Mal's clothes are the same as they were in Firefly.
I understand the changes to Kaylee and Wash's clothes to make them more identifiable in their roles. However, I don't like Simon's new wardrobe. I loved his look in the show and it had such a cool look when he was wearing his apron. I feel his overall appearance is so different, he wears tighter clothes and they are much more Asian. I definitely couldn't see him wearing his apron over some of those outfits.
Another thing that has always bugged me, where did River get her clothes? They don't look like they would be something Inara, Jayne, or Kaylee would wear. I have always felt they weren't hers, especially because in Safe she says "They dress me up like a gorram doll." which makes me think she doesn't like the clothes she wears.
This has a lot of scattered thoughts... but what are your opinions about the clothing changes?
Joss Whedon, Nathan Fillion and Summer Glau are coming tomorrow to open the Sitges Festival! Sitges is a place near Barcelona and this international festival for fantastic cinema is quite famous. I don't live near there so it sucks..
At least this means that we'll get interviews on TV/magazines and it's great for the promotion of the film in Spain. "Firefly" has never aired here so people have no idea what the movie is about.. but "Buffy" and "Angel" have millions of fans so I think the film can really work.
