Mad

Okay, I am uber upset. On Friday, while Scifi was so nice as to run 9 hours of Firefly I decided to set my DVR up to tape them all because I do not have them on DVD. I watched them at the same time but on another TV. Then today, I'm looking at the menu of stuff that I taped and I see that Ariel, Out of Gas, and Jaynestown did not tape. AAAHHH! I feel like smacking the stupid thing.

on second viewing....

I'm in the middle of re-watching "Firefly" for the first time in over a year. Having seen most of the episodes a few times means I can stop to notice the finer points, but I'm noticing in particular after "Serenity":

Is it just me, or are the "hands of blue" villians much creepier than the Operative? Perhaps it's just my opinion, but this is one symptom of what I've suspected for awhile - Joss Whedon works better when he's given a longer narrative to work with: over the course of a season he can give more foreboding, greater creepiness and more nuanced stories when he's not forced to shove introduction, story, and conclusion into 2 hours.

Not that I disliked "Serenity", just something I've observed. Anyone else?
